Completed in 2006, St. Andrew’s Church is the newest church under the Hong Kong Catholic Diocese.
In 1998, government agreed to sell a site, about 3,000 sq m, close to the Hang Hau MTR station to the Diocese as a church to accommodate a congregation of about 700. The new church, together with the St Andrew’s kindergarten and priest quarter was basically completed in July 2004. The internal fittings and installation were also finished by September of the same year. The first thanksgiving mass was held on 23.9.2004 and then blessed by Cardinal Zhen on 19.11.2004.
The St. Vincent’s Church and St. Andrew’s were combined to form one parish and called St. Andrew’s Parish in 1.1.2008.
