St. Margaret Mary’s Church was established by the then PIME priests, with its foundation stone laid on 3.2.1923 and building officiated on 25.1.1925.  It was the very first church in the orient named after St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.

Its development was closely related to the revelation of Jesus Christ to St. Margaret Mary when she was only twenty-eight.  At the time when his holiness was revealed, St. Margaret Mary was given the task to preach gospel to four corners of the world, to spread the love of Jesus and pray for the sinners.  After one whole century, the congregations and legions under St. Margaret Mary’s Church have grown considerably to witness the holy blessing.

St. Margaret Mary’s Church was erected as a parish on 2.1.1949.  When the Christ the King Chapel within the St Paul’s Convent was opened in 1963 for public worship, St. Margaret Mary’s Church also resumed the responsibility of relevant services.  In addition, it includes under its auspices the Rosary Hill School Chapel as well as the Wan Yan College Chapel.
